The instructions need to be larger and in clearer English, however, being a technician, it was pretty easy to figure out, and once connected to my dead hard drive, it worked beautifully and recovered all the files on that drive so I could transfer them to my new laptop.
I highly recommend this product.

Item looks pretty good in the advertisement but they have to send it to you first. I ordered mine on Dec 6th and as of today (Dec 25) tracking still shows it at the original shipping point in NJ. I paid using PayPal just in case I had trouble with the order and now I’m very glad that i did that. I’ve been trying to cancel the order for the last 3 days. At least I know that I can recover my payment via PayPal.

This is awesome! I have three old laptops that are broken, one belonged to my wife that is passed over.
I took my hard drives out and plugged them into it one at a time and it was like a video gaming system with cartridges you plug in, it was that easy. I found things that have been lost for years. Photos and documents, many files! My Chromebook just accepted the drives like they were thumb sticks. I could copy whatever I wanted, move files, I can if I want to use those drives again as spare drives now. The red button doesn't seem to do anything with my Cromebook but I don't care about that since I have full access.
The thing you need to do though is when you take out your hard drives sometimes they are in a housing that also needs to be removed or they will not fit. The other thing is when you get back into those drives you will have to manually go though the folders that were in your windows system on those drives. Check in Windows Desktop, check in Users check in Temp etc.. You will find files all over the place deep into the drive, don't just look in downloads and pictures because stuff gets stored all over the place. This is awesome! Thanks so much, I wish I had this when my wife was still in her body presents.

Dont expect ANY CUSTOMER service and dont expect to be able to return like you do on amazon…. I had a box full of old internal hardrives. Now, with much larger internal hardrives (mega TBs) I decided to move all of the old data to the new larger capacity drives and merge data. The hardware comes with software which you can download. I did not do this. I simply pluged the unit into my new computer via USB port and my computer sees the "old" drive. The unit has an on off switch. This was very handy. Once I had the unit plugged in and the old hardrive securely in place, I turned on the switch and my computer found the "old" drive. It was very simple. I have gone thru both IDE and SATA drives. No problem.

It works great. I got pictures I thought I had lost off of two IDE drives and 2 Sata drives. I had to break off the guide tabs on the IDE connector in order to get the hard drive to mate up with the connector.

The unit works as advertised. The only issue I have is when I ordered it, my credit card company declined the purchase. I contacted them so I could reorder it with no problem, which I did. Somehow, the first order went through as well as the second order. I sent an email to your company to cancel the first order, which you did not do. Now I have a second unit that is of no use to me. This device will be a jewel to use. Although instructions could be on a bigger brochure inside the box , I have limited vision and the super small print was difficult to read. I haven't actually tried using it just yet as my time for tinkering is limited also. more to follow in the future.......

The docking station worked exactly as advertised! I just had to plug in a hard drive, plug in the power cord and plug the USB cord into the computer. I instantly got to see all the files on the hard drive!! And I can leave the files on the computer or copy them to a flashdrive if I want.
The instruction manual is useless. I will have to get instructions somewhere else or else I missed something somewhere. But my needs are almost 100% satisfied!

So simple, and a lifesaver! I used mine to rescue files from a dying HD and move them to my new HD as well as to upgrade a system to a new HD. It feels like cheap plastic, but it works, and that's all I care. Money well spent.
